Power 9 Quote Checklist

The information to gather before requesting a Power 9 system, parts, maintenance, or migration quote.

A Power 9 quote is only useful when it is specific. Gather the exact model, machine type, serial, processor feature, activated cores, memory, storage, adapters, operating systems, HMC level, support status, and target business outcome before asking for pricing.

System identity

Machine type, model, serial number, processor feature code, activated cores, and installed memory.

Workload

IBM i, AIX, Linux, VIOS, SAP HANA, partitions, software tier, users, and growth needs.

I/O and storage

Internal disk, NVMe, SAS, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, tape, SAN, and adapter slots.

Decision path

Keep, expand, maintain, replace, or migrate to Power 10 or Power 11.
