Runs with IBM iYes ... IBM i 7.4 and 7.3 native support; IBM i 7.4, 7.3 and 7.2 in VIOS NPIV and VSCSI configurations. The IBM i page body calls it PCIe2 once while its heading says PCIe3.

Our sources do not list EN2A for a Power 9 machine type. Some sellers still list it for Power 9. Before you buy, confirm it against your exact machine type.

Before you order EN2A

Fibre Channel cards connect the server to a storage network (SAN) or tape. Low profile cards fit the shorter 2U servers. Full height cards fit the taller 4U servers. If a card has a twin code, the twin is the same card in the other height.

    A matching used Power 9 makes a cheap spare, test box, or short bridge. Match the machine type first, because an A model and a G model carry different support dates.

    If you need IBM i 7.6, or want five or more years of IBM support, price a replacement. IBM i 7.6 does not run on any Power 9.
